Since 1980 Hortencio have been researching the cave paintings from many sites around the world. He has developed an unique technique to reproduce the texture of the rocks and the wide spectrum of colors produced by the lichens formed with time.
To achieve this richness in texture and colors Hortencio uses pigments imported from different parts of the world, quartz powder and acrylic resins.
Here are a few examples of the oils and pastels painted by Hortencio. The techniques used are: oil on linen, oil on canvas and pastel on prepared surface. Some of the works displayed above a available for sale in the PURCHASE area of this page.
Attending art collectors requests Hortencio has painted several reproductions of artists such as Dali, Dario Mecatti, J.C. Quilici and others. Some of this work is displayed above.

All prints are original collectible pieces of art. They are produced entirely by hand and printed one by one in a printmaking press.
Only 50 prints were made from each plate. Once the limited edition of 50 prints is complete, the plates were destroyed.
The techniques used in these prints are: mezzotint, drypoint, sandblast and electric drill. Some of the prints were made using just one of these techniques while others combined a few of them.
Some of these prints have now only few original prints available for purchase.
